The Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes program captivates students when they hear a story of characters that etch a lasting memory of short vowel sounds. The rhyming strategies that your reading program use has helped me to teach many children to read, and best of all, they like

The Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes Reading Program is an engaging medium for explicit and non-explicit Phonics instruction. This Reading program is about specific spelling-sound correspondences and the alphabetic principle in general.  Rhyming with Phonics provides opportunities for self-assessment and correction, as construction of sound in each new word is compared with the sounds of words that students know.  It supports students who are struggling to recognize words by automatically rhyming parts of words or syllables.
Meanwhile, the physical manipulation of letters on the pages accomodate students who might otherwise have difficulty sustaining their attention in whole-group instruction.  Finally, these Phonics activities are inherently motivational, since students at all levels of achievement can experience both success and instructional challenge as these Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes'  lessons proceed from simple to more comple
