it works!
The building blocks of reading continues in the 1st grade with phonemic awareness and the consonant and vowel sounds. Next are the blending or riming of the consonants to the vowel sounds. First graders need to master these important skills in order to be proficient in decoding (reading) and ending encoding (spelling) CV syllables in words. During the first grade year the CV blending skill must be taught by he teacher and mastered by the student.
These Phonics skills are absolutely essential in learning to read. Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes develops these skills in the emergent reader simply by using an exciting rhyming method that ensures success in every child. At this grade level the student is also introduced to CVC words as enrichment exercises. The objective of the Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes' 1st grade program is to supply teachers with the necessary methods and materials that will bring about success in children.
Testimonial
The difference in the Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes program and other programs is the rhythms and rhymes. Traditional phonics does not hold students' attention like Phonics, Rhythms and Rhymes. They do not get the students' attention as much, and they do not keep the students excited about learning. Phonics Rhythms, and Rhymes is a unique program that teaches children to read with immediate results.
