Phonics,

Literacy is based on skill mastery of blending consonants and blends to vowels, vowel digraphs, diphthongs, and endings.  These skills must be taught in succession starting from kindergarten (C), first grade (CV), and second grade (CVC, CVCe, CVVC, CCVCC, CCVCe, CCVVC).  During the third grade year the following skills must be taught:

To accomplish the aforementioned objectives the student's learning must be exciting, interesting, and rewarding.  Rhyming in rhythm gives children a wonderful opportunity to learn these fundamental skills.  To reach children, Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes has developed exciting raps, chants, and songlike repetitions called rhythms and rhymes.  The objective of the Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes' 3rd grade Reading program is to supply teachers with the necessary methods and materials that will bring about success in children.

The children that I have worked with using Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes were able to comprehend much quicker and easier.  I do believe when other teachers teach with it we will see fewer reading problems in our schools.  Once teachers are teaching with Phonics, Rhythms and Rhymes and they see the progress the students are making everyone will want to use it, because everyone wants to see students excel.  I believe this is the break-through we have been waiting for . . .
