Phonics, Rhythms, and Rhymes

The most important skills in learning to decode words are taught during the kindergarten year.The student should be taught consonant and vowel letters and sounds.  It is very important that the student is taught the proper vocalization of each consonant(C) and vowel (V) sound CV.

These Phonics skills are absolutely essential in learning to read.  During the kindergarten school year a proper foundation starts with phonemic awareness, the proper naming, sounding, and shaping of letters.
