Unit 1
Objective:
The student(s) will be able to identify, and enunciate consonant blends, trigraph (consonant
blends) sounds blended with short  vowel sounds, and endings.
Prerequisite Skills:
The student must know and be able to recite the alphabet (a-z).

Activity:                                 
The teacher will lead the students in a discussion on symbols, how best todescribe them, and
their meaning.
The teacher will demonstrate the voiced phonic sounds.
The teacher will demonstrate the unvoiced phonic sounds.
The teacher will demonstrate the voiced vowel sounds.
The teacher will lead the students in a rhyming  rhythms of consonant blends, and trigraphs (triblends) with short vowel sounds in a cccv pattern.
Student:         
The student(s) will brainstorm for familiar words that have short vowel sounds.
The student(s) will brainstorm for familiar words that have short vowel sounds in a cccvc, cccvcc,and cccvccc pattern.
